Malkie Nussbaum

Founder and Clinical Director

Malkie Nussbaum has dedicated more than 25 years to working with children with autism and other developmental disabilities. She began her career as a special education teacher in the Ocean Township School District, where she developed a strong foundation in individualized education and student-centered support. After earning her Board Certified Behavior Analyst credential, she expanded her impact by opening Mini Mine, an early intervention center focused on providing meaningful developmental support to young children and their families. She also co-founded the Behavior Analyst Community of Central Jersey (BAC-CJ), a professional association dedicated to fostering communication, transparency, professional support, and continued growth among behavior analysts throughout Ocean and Monmouth County.

11 years in the field of special education, 10 years in the field of ABA, Working at Achieve for 7 years since 2019, 2015: Began working in the field of special education in a special education preschool. Worked as a para for students with multiple disabilities carrying out behavioral modification plans and following sensory diet for children with hypoactive sensory systems. 2016: Teacher in a special education school. Created behavior plans for students with various disabilities including autism. Attended IEP meetings to help individualize behavior change programs for each child. Completed quarterly and annual reports of children’s progress and future goals. Worked on classroom management, student involvement and engaging lessons. Improved students learning, social, emotional and behavioral skills. 2017: ABA BT: Delivered treatment in schools, homes and communities using the principles of applied behavior analysis including discrete trial, shaping, natural environment training, verbal behavior and social skills worked with individuals between ages 3-11 with ASD. Collaborated and communicated with caregivers to positively impact each client’s behavior and treatment. Recorded and tracked each individual's progress with graphs and daily data collection. Assisted student in receiving animal therapy on farm setting. 2019-present: BCBA at Achieve
