RBT Careers at Achieve ABA

Behind every breakthrough is someone like you

Someone patient enough to try again. Focused enough to notice the small shifts. And invested enough to celebrate every step forward with the knowledge that it’s helping them get closer to success.

Sounds like you?

For over 20 years, Achieve ABA has helped hundreds of children in New Jersey and North Carolina build skills, confidence, and independence. But we don't do it alone.

Our RBTs are the reason families trust us, and why children make real, lasting progress.

If you're looking for work that means something, where every interaction, session, and painstaking step forward will mean the world to you, we’d  like to meet you.

Work that actually matters:

You won't just be running programs. You'll be building relationships, celebrating breakthroughs, and watching kids do things they couldn't do last month.

RBT job description

As a Registered Behavior Technician at Achieve ABA, you'll work one-on-one with children with autism in their homes and schools, implementing individualized ABA therapy programs designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

Responsibilities include:

Implement treatment plans

Collaborate with BCBAs

Receive regular supervision and feedback. Communicate openly about what you're seeing in sessions so treatment stays effective.

A day in the life

Step 1: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

You'll work one-on-one with kids in their homes and schools—building skills, staying steady through the hard moments, and celebrating the breakthroughs.

Step 2: Morning session

You arrive at a family's home. A 4-year-old is working on using words to request instead of grabbing. You practice with his favorite snacks. By the end of the session, he says "cookie" for the first time. His mom tears up. You do too.

Step 3: Afternoon session

You're at a school supporting a 6-year-old during recess. Last month, he played alone. Today, he asks a peer to play catch. You stay back and watch it happen. That's the win.

Step 4: Data & debrief

You log session data while it's fresh. You text your BCBA about the breakthrough. She responds with celebration and next steps.

When a child does something they couldn't do last week, you'll know you helped make that happen. It's not easy work. But it's fulfilling. You feel it in your heart.

This role is a good fit if you:

Find meaning in small, incremental progress

Stay patient and consistent, even when it's tough

Communicate clearly with families and colleagues

Want mentorship and professional development, not just a paycheck

Are reliable (families are counting on you showing up)

Enjoy working directly with children and building real relationships
