High IQ is not necessarily linked to autism, though some individuals on the autism spectrum may have above-average intelligence. Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition, not an indicator of intelligence level. People with autism can have a wide range of intellectual abilities, from intellectual disability to giftedness.


Research shows that while some autistic individuals excel in areas like math, memory, or logic, others may face challenges in communication or adaptive skills. It’s important to recognize that intelligence tests may not fully capture the unique cognitive strengths of autistic people, such as strong pattern recognition or attention to detail.
